hello my name is Stacy Thomas I'm a CTE teacher I teach C-TEC I am a certified instructor at Chelsea CT High School I would just like talk to you a little bit about the program that we have to offer the ones that I represent in particular is the c tech program and basically the students that come through this program they will learn how to create copper cables like ethernet cables coax cable they also deal in fiber as well as grounding and bonding and they learn a little bit about Wireless and 5G communication now the other is beautiful a person that enjoys working with your hands or enjoying this is the course where you I'm also the work-based learning coordinator here at Chelsea that means that if you're interested in working with his part-time and doing an internship or working in the summer I will be your go-to person ever Chelsea CT you must acquire 54 hours of work based learning experience over the course of the four years while you're here so it doesn't have to be done at 1 in one year but we would like for you to have exposure to career path throughout your time here so we have multiple ways for you to go about doing that we have after school programs that you can work and we have summer internships like Summer Youth Employment Program we have an inter Scholars Program to the workplace Office of the Department of Education and we also have an apprenticeship program the apprenticeship program that we currently runs for career-wise New York where you start in 10th Grade and it's a three-year apprenticeship program it requires you to be committed for 3 years it's paid and you learn about a particular field that you are interested in that we're not scanning school so we're very safe school kids that attend students that attended School feel safe Staffing supporting staff knows most of the students find first name the principal greet you at the door every day like it's just a safe happy space to be in and if you do a student who are afraid to take chances and to learn something new Chelsea is definitely the place for you my name isn't three high school with the ship in Korea rise though it's a three-year program where you start in your sophomore year and it goes into your first year into college and what they do is you get to explore the business operations or the technical side pick and they place you in big companies where you have to go through three round interviews and four career-wise I learned so much I probably would have learned it without it at first I thought I wanted to do like Knology if I join CTE and protect but then I've had a discussion with Miss Thomas and said that maybe text wasn't for me and she showed me career-wise program where I found a company's eyes you like working for and moved into the business operations by hello my name is Kevin I'm a junior here and Chelsea Career Technical medication of high school I'm coming into a few more days until I cry that's a lie well as two senior year all right now currently I'm in my Cisco C-TEC class where we learn how to make wires hands to hands on their about software about Hardware stuff like that in this school we provide a ride internships we provide a lot of academic resources such as after-school programs such as if you want to learn how to take better pictures we have been asked to school photography program we have a lot of sorts of stuff here if you're very like Hands-On very academic person there is definitely a variety of academics there's this program called Summer Youth Employment Program that I currently am attending is basically where if you want to get any job experience at all you can definitely join server you because they provide a variety of programs to such as if you want to take care of kids you want to supervise you want to go and photography you want to go and do like I say want to move organize anything like that it is definitely like some job experience you can do in summer Youth Employment Program currently I'm going to attend and I hopefully I got a job in my elementary school this where I supervise kids it's with us rice program where they're offering jobs to teens to supervise kids last year I did this thing called Tikki youth is where it you learn all sorts of things about marketing investing How to Save a Life how to start your own business how to create a resume anything like that and in this school like there's also apprenticeships where you learn how to create a resume yourself in a very organized and professional manner but I would recommend the school to anyone who likes Hands-On thing like it's really really amazing and in my current major like Hands-On has very like been really really fine and I really enjoy making wires and stuff like that we got two different field trips there's a lot of filled with clubs with actual school and I-57 he have we got to go out for lunch we have a lot of freedom in the school to do the things that we want to do is a lot of new people that you can me it's not just we have lunch with two grades so it's not just the people in your gravy off of your skin other people from different grades and this is a very diverse school so there's also a lot of students in different in races cultures all of that so it's very interesting the people that you get to me and become friends with
