My name is Jaivelle Reed and I'm the proud principal here at Chelsea CTE where we offer three Dynamic Career and Technical education Majors college now, a rigorous academic curriculum and a place that is the place to be we pride ourselves on being a family atmosphere where we support the students academic, social and emotional needs Welcome to Chelsea CTE Feels like walking into my own home because first of all the principal Mr Reed greets us at the door almost everyday and if it's not him, it's Mr. Spann, they always greet you at the door they give you a fist bump and they just make the environment very welcoming it's nice knowing it's nice knowing that when you come into school in this building there's always someone here to help you whether that's with homework, your apprenticeship, or anything I think every time I step into the school, I feel a sense of community because I'm coming to see people who I'm building bonds with and who I've never had bonds with before so it kind of feels like I'm creating this new family for myself so it's like a it's like a home away from home for me Our rigorous academic curriculum includes Career and Technical education, advanced placement and college now courses that prepare students for success postsecondary Readiness. Workplace learning opportunities include but are not limited to career and college fairs, workplace challenges, guaranteed summer youth employment, career days, internships and career-wise apprenticeships that equip students with the skills and emotional intelligence required to be lifelong Learners and gainfully employed members of society Here at Chelsea. CTech courses have been nothing but fundamental for me. We have everything on hand that we could possibly need here to make it as realistic as possible Cisco and Ctech offers a wide range of programs and there's a lot of interactive things you can do for example: over here we have a bunch of routers and switches which which we sometimes network on, you can open up the terminal, do packet tracers so it's really fun and interesting to see how much opportunity lies here So for the College now program it's actually preparing students to have college credits while in high school so it's dual enrollment The teachers they always make themselves available I can reach them by email, by phone One thing that I really like that the school gives is like the events they have ever so often like the college fair, like we get to know more about the colleges and like it helps us like figure out what decisions we want to make to go to college We have girl and boys bowling and we have indoor cross country and track boys varsity basketball girls varsity basketball and we have JV Basketball for boys Any student at Chelsea that is interested in taking AP courses is given the opportunity and they have five or six different AP courses that they're exposed and welcome to take and there's also college now classes that are being offered by teachers after school as well since the school provided a very generous psychology course like I basically have like a information on psychology that would allow me to basically ace my AP test Work-based learning actually is something that where you actually go out into the business and practice your skill that you learned from the high school so if you are in the track of computer systems and Telecommunications you would end up in an it firm where they actually practice this stuff and then you actually learn more. Career and Technical education afford students not only the academics but they also have a career pathway and seeing them come from freshman go through their sophomore Junior and senior years, experience all that we offer in their classes, on trips through our community Building circles and all the things that we do to ensure that they feel like they are welcome here, that they belong here and our families also partner with us and entrust us with their most prized possessions really super It's really super rewarding actually to like..... I cry every year at graduation because I've seen these kids were 4 years and I watched them just mature and grow into these just beautiful young adults and it's just so rewarding and then I'm always tearing up every year So now that you've learned all that Chelsea CTE has to offer, I encourage you to apply to our Chelsea Technical Academy Cisco or our graphic design programs We look forward to welcoming you and your families this fall
