all high schools in America have the same Mission prepare our children for the next step but here's the thing that all students are the same and that all career path follow the same direction so New York City public schools are trying to do things a little different and it's usually some pretty amazing words here's Michelle Charlesworth with more money in an apprenticeship at a place like JPMorgan Chase and getting paid 18 to $25 an hour while in high school is a 1617 olds making that kind of money and go right into these jobs full time so Sean is 19 already graduated and is living that life are your parents going crazy where they like college but I was able to convince them I don't realize the potential wouldn't apprenticeship as yet but for me to Sean Works in computers at Accenture College may still be in the cards for him but for now he's making great money and deciding where he wants to focus next meantime he's learning life skills how to invest a 401k is raw easy to win over students and their parents because this doesn't necessarily mean you have to go to college a lot of these students working in computers are taking jobs right out of high school making 62 $100,000 a year also expanding for other students who are interested in other things like teaching nursing Radiology heads up is this a job training in computers and business and finance we hear a lot about the skills shortage the talent got that employees are looking to solve this is one of those really kind of win-win opportunities if students still want college after working while there are also some employers who will pay for that there any cases where the companies are paying for their tuition there are cases and I think that's one of the unique things of this is unlocking and creating that opportunity for young people new ways of looking at Public School graduating and what comes
